Thanks for stopping by! I’m Andrew Washington, and this is my travel blog.

I’m a globetrotter with a passion for exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations. Over the past decade, I’ve journeyed through countless countries, capturing the essence of each place with my camera. Currently, you can find me roaming the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand, with my trusty backpack and my curiosity as my guide.

My love for travel ignited during a spontaneous trip to Peru in 2013. With nothing but a backpack and a sense of adventure, I trekked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. That experience opened my eyes to the world and fueled my desire to explore more.

One of my early travel videos, documenting the breathtaking landscapes of the Swiss Alps, went viral, garnering millions of views and catching the attention of travel enthusiasts worldwide. This unexpected success pushed me to continue sharing my adventures with a broader audience.

Since then, I’ve wandered through almost every corner of Asia, explored the cultural richness of South America, and delved into the historical depths of Europe and the Middle East.

Along my travels, I’ve encountered numerous unforgettable moments, including:

  • Braving the harsh conditions of the Atacama Desert in Chile,
  • Witnessing the Northern Lights in Iceland,
  • Exploring the ancient ruins of Petra in Jordan,
  • Diving in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia,
  • Camping under the stars in the Sahara Desert,
  • Participating in a traditional tea ceremony in Japan,
  • Dancing with locals at a festival in Rio de Janeiro,
  • Cruising through the fjords of Norway,
  • Trekking to the Lost City of Colombia,
  • and marveling at the architectural wonder of the Colosseum in Rome.

In 2019, I set a personal milestone by visiting 30 countries in just one year. I managed this on a shoestring budget, often spending less than $25/day, thanks to a mix of budget accommodations, local street food, and a lot of walking.

My journey hasn’t been without its challenges – from navigating language barriers and dealing with cultural shocks to overcoming travel fatigue and handling unexpected situations like natural disasters and political unrest.

Despite these hurdles, every trip has been a learning experience, enriching my understanding of the world and its diverse cultures.

I hope my travel stories, tips, and guides inspire you to embark on your own adventures, whether it’s a weekend getaway or a round-the-world journey. The world is vast and full of wonders waiting to be explored – let’s discover it together!
